One of our personal favourites, The Sandpiper is an intimate boutique property, tucked away on the tranquil west coast, yet just a short walk from the bustle of Holetown.
Dining here is exquisite, with an open restaurant surrounded by tranquil koi ponds – it’s certainly regarded by discerning diners as one of the best on Barbados. The Executive Chef and his team create a fusion of European and Asian dishes, as well as eclectic menus with a Caribbean flair, making mealtimes a definite highlight of your stay.
Down at the beach, alfresco lunches and sundowners can be taken at popular Harold’s Bar, a true Bajan gem, known throughout the island for the friendly barman, who will soon learn your favourite tipple. Casual low key entertainment is also offered on most nights too, from cocktail party to grill themed fayre, with live steelpan music.
During the day, the beach offers a fantastic range of activities, from simple sunbathing to more adventurous diving – there’s also the Barbados Sea Turtle Project adjacent to the hotel, for those keen to understand more about the island’s wildlife. Just a short stroll along the beach brings you to the sister property, Coral Reef Club, where guests looking for further relaxation and rejuvenation can visit the Spa & Wellness Centre.
Accommodation is spacious – leading in with Garden Rooms, decorated in cool whites and creams, with traditional and colourful Caribbean designs used in the cushions and artwork, each also has a private patio or balcony. For additional space, there are one and two-bedroomed Suites, as well as the ultimate in opulence, Treetop Suites.
This is an award-winning family-run hotel, is meticulously designed and managed, where guests return year after year to enjoy the luxurious accommodation, superb location and welcoming ambience.
